We build lasting relationships with the families we honor in the MMIWMemorialGrove. Those relationships we hold very dear. There are times when those families come to us directly with a need that is associated with their loved ones that we honor in the Grove.
Special Requests are given directly to our memorial families for things like memorial service costs, funeral costs, ceremonies, court costs, search and rescue supplies put on by the families only, scholarships for schooling in the name of one of Our Loved Ones, and anything along those lines to help their communities left behind.
With respect and love to those families, we are withholding their names at this time. Send them good thoughts as they navigate an emotional life event.

Domestic violence education and information.

We are a grassroots movement. We ride to bring national awareness and resources to issues impacting our indigenous relatives. We are not experts, and we are not waiting until experts arrive. We're just women on motorcycles who care about something that affects us. We are getting together, and we're figuring it out as we go along.

Maeqtekuahkihkiw Metaemohsak, Woodland Women are a grassroots organization consisting of women who are sisters, aunties, and grammas. We provide support and healing through cultural advocacy and care with our elders. We are constantly needing supplies for beading, sewing, weaving, and quilling so that we can provide life ways and connection to who we are for healing. We do this work with our elders.

This was one of the first groups we partnered with. Roxanne White is the founder and director of Justice for MMIWP Families. She is a survivor and a family member of MMIP.
Roxanne works tirelessly on the ground to raise awareness and help the families. She does searches with families and makes sure they are supported. It's a true honor to have worked closely with her these last few years. She is a mentor to many women who work for MMIW families and their communities.
This is a tireless organization working to raise awareness of the missing and murdered and to bring comfort to their families.

MMIW NC Coalition's mission is to build a strong foundation for healing, justice, and reconciliation for the governments (local and state), institutions and community in order to help society's attitudes and understanding of the issue (MMIW, 2018). MMIW NC vision is to provide united tribal leadership in this work by lifting up the collective voices of grassroots advocates in tribal communities.
MMIW NC is to bring our missing home and help the families of the murdered understand and cope through the process of grief.

Native American LifeLines, Inc. is a Title V Indian Health Services contracted Urban Indian Health Program, founded in the year 2000 as Lifelines Foundation, Inc., in Baltimore, Maryland. Native American LifeLines expanded services to Boston, Massachusetts, in 2011, and currently serves Urban American Indians and Alaska Natives in both the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions. Our behavioral health program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

Let's not forget who this work is for. The MMIW Memorial Grove stands as a beacon for victims of Missing Murdered Indigenous Women/People. We offer a safe haven for those in need of healing, and spread awareness and education about the plight of Indigenous communities in need. The Grove is not using its own donations, but sending the donations to organizations listed on this page.
Do not forget, we are here to honor our loved ones, gone too soon but not forgotten. This memorial has been made with permission from each and every individual family whose loved ones never came home.
For those that live far away, this might be the only place some families have to visit and remember their family members. By visiting that page, please remember those people, their lives, and those that they left behind.
